"Heroes of the Soil: The Champions of Regenerative Agriculture” #1
Greetings No Lack Family!
I hope this blog finds you doing well! All is well here on the farm and hectic as usual. All the new calves are on the ground and very healthy except for a few, due to cows that were bred late. Lambs and kids born in late February are already over halfway to their adult size and chicks are ready to leave the brooder. As for me, I’m just trying to keep it all moving in the right direction. Before we move on, I’m sure some of you are wondering how our new farm hand Rose is doing. Well I would say that she is settling in nicely!

This month I am introducing a new segment to my blog/newsletter called "Heroes of the Soil: The Champions of Regenerative Agriculture”. Hopefully it will become a monthly feature where I highlight individuals who I feel are doing great things in the regenerative agriculture space.
This month I will be featuring Jessica Sharp. I met Jessica approximately a year ago and was immediately impressed with her knowledge of functional nutrition and her passion for regenerative agriculture. But here is the thing, most people discover regenerative agriculture, and they think, “hmmm that’s cool”, but not Jessica. Jessica didn’t see regenerative agriculture as just a cool fad; she saw a need for it. So much so, that she applied for an apprenticeship at White Oak Pastures to go learn from one of the masters, Will Harris. Talk about walking the walk and talking the talk!
Jessica Sharp, holistic nutritionist www.jmswellness.com
Jessica Sharp is a holistic nutritionist and thyroid and gut health coach who helps women get to the root of their chronic symptoms—without the overwhelm of trends, gimmicks, or one-size-fits-all protocols. As the founder of JMS Wellness, Jessica combines functional testing with real food, daily rhythm, and common-sense health foundations to help her clients feel clear, energized, and confident in their bodies again.
After years working in natural health retail and seeing firsthand how many people were left confused by expensive supplements, fad diets, and incomplete advice, she created a more grounded, back-to-basics approach. Her work is deeply influenced by regenerative agriculture, ancestral wisdom, and the belief that food should be simple, nourishing, and local whenever possible.
Jessica supports women through personalized coaching, group programs like Soil to Self, and practical resources that cut through the noise. Outside of her work, she enjoys visiting farms, walking barefoot outdoors, swimming in the ocean, hiking in the mountains and forests, and creating seasonal wellness tools for her clients.
Recently Jessica set out to compile a very informative document to aide those interested in:
Discovering how to break free from a broken food system and reconnect with real nourishment. This free guide, Regenerative American Farmers, is your no-fluff introduction to local, regenerative agriculture — and why it matters for your gut, your health, and your food freedom. Inside, you’ll find:
✅ Easy-to-understand breakdowns of industrial vs regenerative farming
✅ Information about local food
✅ Questions to ask your farmer

Whether you’re just starting your wellness journey or deep in the trenches of healing, this guide will help you make informed, grounded choices that support your body—and reconnect you to your community, the land, and the seasons.
Because real nourishment doesn’t come from barcodes. It comes from people, land, and food you can trust.
Real food. Real farms. Real freedom starts here.
